My question here, entirely omitted from this write-up, is did the sex CAUSE the chandelier to fall? If not, the decision is clearly correct—she'd have been hurt in her bed regardless of what she was doing there when the chandelier fell. The sex is colorful but irrelevant. If her lover was hanging from the chandelier, perhaps that's a different story. Then again, perhaps not: Was the lover a coworker?

Hi Ray, Kudos to you for truly parsing the details of this story! From the reports we'd seen we can't say for sure that anyone was literally hanging from the light fixture, but the gentleman involved had been quoted as saying things like they were going at it pretty hard–it's hard to know what exactly that involved. Rest assured, however, if the light fixture magically came off its base, with no relation to the sexual antics, then that surely would've been presented in arguments by the woman's attorney, no? We also do not know if this gentleman–only dubbed a 'male friend'–was a co-worker or client or vendor or…whatever.

INJUSTICE GONE MAD! Let me get this straight~ This woman got paid STEADY INCOME BY THE GOVERNMENT FOR having SEX ON THE JOB, and will now be paid PERMANENT INCOME BY THE GOVERNMENT for being injured while having sex on the job as an employee of the GOVERNMENT and condoned by the LEGAL SYSTEM, yet any non-government employee (i.e. citizen in society) may not receive ANY form of income from non-government sources (i.e. person in society) for having sex on the job (i.e. prostitution) AND will be prosecuted by the legal system! A double reward for govt. employees or a double screwing for all non-govt. employees!
