Oh lovely, i'm the fool once again. Had an MRI last thursday and am just reading about the contrast dye now. Angry that the supposed health care providers actually give a Rat's Ass about the patient.

Hi Michele, Thanks for your comment–and fwiw, I had the same experience just a couple of months ago, and it's not a comforting thought to have as you're awaiting the Gadolinium contrast to work its way out of your system. Unfortunately, there are not that many alternatives for MRI scans–if you require one with a contrast agent–and there are only about 4-5 brands of gadolinium contrast agent that are used routinely. In most instances, the patient having undergone an MRI with contrast is fine–but it's something to keep an eye on and be mindful of–and should you require additional MRI scans, talk with both your doctor and the radiologist or technician at the facility where your MRI is scheduled to discuss your concerns and alternatives.

The worst part about this is it is deliberateing being done without a second thought of these hospitals checking on the patients medications that can be deadly with contrast dye such as the case with mt father, He was thrown into complete kidney failure from this and then one of the medicines he had to take to stay alive gave him cancer. They keep saying that a person has to have had some sort of kidney failure. disease, or being diabetic can cause this. THIS IS NOT TRUE. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR. THIS IS NOT TRUE. They are continueing to lie about this. Our family can 100% testify to this. Our dad is living on borrowed time only BY THE GRACE OF GOD. We know another 6 families just in our area who are suffering from kidney failure due to contrast dye. He was a very healthy man until this and now spends more time in the hospitals and unable to do much of anything at all. Please make the hospitals and doctors tell everyone about the black box warning on this horrid poison on this stuff. About the risl and or death it can cause. PLEASE BEWARE. There are test such as MRI's that can be done without contrast dye. We know. Too late, butmaybe not for others out there.
