. By
Mason, MIPolice are still hoping to determine who is to blame for a recent train accident that injured four people, including children. They have requested that any video footage taken from the locomotive be turned over to the authorities.

span itemprop="image" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/ImageObject" style="display:block">According to official police reports, a family of four in a pickup truck was struck by a passing commuter train last Thursday. The man had to be cut from the vehicle and airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he was listed as being in serious condition by the Lansing State Journal. The remaining passengers were taken by an ambulance. The news provider had no update on their conditions, but reported that the woman in the passenger seat was able to exit the vehicle on her own.

Officials have thus far been unable to establish blame in the incident, as eyewitnesses on the scene have reported several different accounts of the event. What is known is that the railroad crossing in question has no safety gate and the train's conductor was operating the vehicle within the 10 mph limit.

One motorist at the scene claimed that the pickup swerved around her stopped vehicle before skidding into the path of the oncoming train. The investigation is ongoing.
