Scottie Pippen Wins Legal Malpractice Lawsuit

. By
Chicago, ILFormer NBA All-Star Scottie Pippen recently won $2 million in his legal malpractice lawsuit.

span itemprop="image" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/ImageObject" style="display:block">The six-time NBA Champion sued two attorneys from the Chicago-based law firm Pedersen & Houpt, alleging that they had not monitored his 2002 purchase of a private jet closely enough, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The jet was grounded just months after Pippen bought it.

Pippen sought $8.2 million in the legal malpractice lawsuit, but the jury awarded him about one quarter of that, determining that the three-time All-NBA First Team member was partially responsible for the poor financial decision.

The ruling brought Pippen to tears, reports the news source.

"I don't want to really say anything, I'm just exhausted and tired," he told the news provider before exiting the courthouse with his wife, Larsa.

During opening statements in the case, the lawyer for the defendants argued that Pippen was simply looking for a scapegoat for the bad business deal.

Pippen famously teamed with Michael Jordan to win six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s.
