On the heels Allergan Inc. pleading guilty to marketing its wrinkle smoother botox for unapproved uses, the Food and Drug Administration has now approved Allergan's product, which is a purified form of the poison botulinum, for chronic migraine headaches.
Attorney Ray Chester Is the Botox Buster

Austin, TX Attorney Ray Chester has given Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, a few worry lines of its own. He recently obtained a $15 million verdict on behalf of an Oklahoma woman who suffered unintended consequences after receiving a Botox injection to eliminate wrinkles in her forehead. Chester has at least eight other suits pending against the company.

Indiana Couple Blames Botox for Death of Daughter

Indianapolis, IN The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Botox injections for only a handful of indications, but off-label use continues on a wide scale. According to a proposed lawsuit in Indiana, off-label use of Botox for muscle spasms triggered the death of a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy.

Jurors Debate the Outcome of Botox Death Case in California

Los Angeles, CA Allergan, the company that develops Botox treatment for wrinkles, has filed a lawsuit aimed at lifting the marketing ban of off-label uses for pharmaceuticals.

Director: Medical assistants should not handle Botox injections

Las Vegas, NV Louis Ling, the executive director of the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners, recently said that Botox injections being administered by medical assistants was a common practice throughout the state, and that it should stop.

Counterfeit Botox Allegedly Used in Patient Procedures

Bellevue, WA At one time, Botox may have been considered treatment for only the wealthiest in society, but its use is becoming increasingly common among many groups in society, including young women. However, Botox side effects can be serious when the botulinum toxin spreads from the injection site to other areas of the body. On top of all that, there are charges from both US coasts that people have been injecting clients with counterfeit Botox.

The Latest Line on Botox Risk—New Precautions

Ottawa, ON Although the jury is still out on the level of danger for Botox paralysis, it was announced this week that Health Canada has approved updated warnings for Botox, and Botox Cosmetic (Botox injections for wrinkles) after a number of adverse reaction reports, that included Botox death.
