. By
Delaware, OHAn man recently died of injuries sustained in a boating accident when two boats collided head-on in an Ohio state park.

The Mount Vernon News reports that Dale Baker was on board the craft that his brother, Robert Baker, was operating when accident occurred.

According to a spokesperson from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft, the brothers were boating in Alum Creek State Park when they collided with a boat operated by Kevin Carpenter. Both Robert and Dale Baker were taken to medical centers, where Dale died about six hours later.

"The Division of Watercraft investigates all fatal boating accidents in the state of Ohio," John Wisse, public information officer with the ODNR Division of Watercraft, told the news source. "We usually head up investigation of most of the serious critical incident, non-fatal, boating-related accidents."

Wisse also warned that the summer months typically see a high number of boating accidents.

"These are summer weekends. Summer weekends are among the busiest boating weekends of the year," Wisse said.
