Maria Jiminez will be awarded $50,000 by San Joaquin County, California for medical malpractice. Jiminez went to the county hospital to deliver a baby in August, 2004. Several days after the caesarian section operation, the patient complained of persistent pain and an x-ray showed a gauze sponge was left in her abdomen. (Sept-27-05) [LODI NEWS]
