Denied Disability Claim by Colonial Life

I work for a large corporation. The Corporation I work for had Colonial Life Disability come in and sign employees up for disability insurance.I got the insurance.

The insurance agent stated to me ALL ILLNESS is covered after 14 days of my disability. I went on disability in November and in December 2006 I was denied benefits because they state in the policy Depression is not a covered illness as it states in the policy.

I never received a policy. I received a letter telling me the date of my insurance coverage beginning but no Policy. The agent was always reassuring me that any illness will be covered after 14 days. So now I have been out 1 month from work and have no income until I return to work when my Doctor states it will be okay.

I called to speak with the appeals department customer service stated that they do not take calls!!! My appeal was faxed on the day of rejection but now customer service states they do not have it. They also tell me they have sent me a policy for my review. It's too late for a policy now.

I even tried to call the agent and this person was not available either. I am going to pursue a legal situation. Their reply to my legal pursuit was that they would not be able to coorespond with me if I hired an attorney to fight my case.

That does not seem to be a problem with me, as they do not want to talk to me maube they will talk with my attorney or maybe a Judge?? I wanted to settle this with them but they are a company that takes money and then makes up policies in their favor.
