Work Bites!!! (and then some)

While at work one day, I felt something crawling on the lower half of right leg. I reached down and felt a pinching sensation, rolled my pants leg up to have a look. I was unable to see the reason for the painful sensation, however, I did notice a red spot on my leg. I disregarded this as I thought this was from my initial examination.

The next day I accidentally knocked my leg while getting ready for work. It was very painful, so I again began to examine the area. My leg resembled an island hosting an angry volatile volcano. A substance was oozing from the "mouth" of the "volcano" and the surrounding area was red and inflamed. The tissue surrounding the opening was dark in color.

Needless to say I was alarmed and frantic. I headed to urgent care and was treated for a spider bite, a Brown Recluse bite. I endured a super powerful antibiotic shot in my fanny and will take the strongest antibiotic horsepills for the next seven days. I have insurance and the medicine still cost me $160.00!! Now my place of employment does not have an exterminator under contract. They have not offered to reimburse me for my medication. I will undoubtedly have a scar from this huge hole in my leg. I had to miss five days of work due to doctors' orders of staying off of my feet.

My question is simple....why should I have to be punished financially, physically, and mentally for the negligence exhibited by my employers? The spider misdirected his bite!!!
