New York, NY: A proposed settlement has been reached in the unfair business practices class action pending against Michaels stores over allegations it collected customers' ZIP codes during in store credit and debit card transactions, violating Massachusetts state law.
Customers who shopped at a Michaels retail store in Massachusetts between May 23, 2007 and February 12, 2014 who were asked to provide their ZIP codes while making a credit or debit card purchase, could be eligible for benefits from the class action settlement.
As part of the proposed Settlement, and upon final approval of the Settlement, eligible class members will receive either a ten dollar ($10.00) or twenty-five dollar ($25.00) cash value voucher. The voucher will be valid for ninety (90) days from the date issue. Individual voucher values will be based on the subclass class members qualify for under in accordance with Michaels' records.
