Mercedes Benz $15M Tele Aid Class Action Settlement Approved

Newark, NJ: A settlement of $15 million has been approved by a federal judge ending a consumer fraud class action lawsuit against Mercedes Benz USA. The suit alleged that buyers of the luxury vehicles that had models with analog Tele Aid communication systems were not told, or that Mercedes failed to disclose that it planned to phase out the analogue emergency communications systems on its models from 2003-2006.

Under the terms of the settlement purchasers of 2003 to 2006 Mercedes-Benz models with the analog Tele Aid systems installed in their vehicles could receive either a certificate for up to $1,300 off a new vehicle or $650 in cash.
