Target Settles Discrimination Lawsuit for $160K

Los Angeles, CA: Target has settled a discrimination lawsuit brought by a disabled cart attendant in Orange County in 2009. The discount retailer has agreed to pay $160K to the attendant, to settle allegations that they failed to attend to his needs.

The suit was brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of the former Target employee. The suit alleged that Target had not secured a job coach for the man, and had reduced his work hours after he returned to work following medical leave for a seizure.
