Barber School to Repay Students Over Deceptive Business PracticesWashington, DC: A barber school in Anne Arundel County has been found guilty of deceptive business practices and breach of contract by a jury hearing the unfair business practices case brought by three former students.The school's owner was also found liable for intentional infliction of emotional distress, which led the jury to award a $150,000 settlement. The three students had sought the return of their individual tuition fees, which was more than $17,000, as well as compensatory damages for misrepresentations and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The award was later reduced by $9,000.
