Florida Homeowners Win $1.2M Settlement in Bombing Range Class Action

Orlando, FL: A class action lawsuit filed by homeowners in a housing subdivision in southeast Orlando has been settled for $1.2 million.

The lawsuit alleged that homebuilder, The Ryland Group, did not disclose the fact that the homes were built on or near the Pinecastle Jeep Range, an bombing range from World War II. The suit alleges that because of the homes proximity to the bombing range, and specifically after live amunition was found on the boming range, property values plummeted.

According to a report in the Miami Herald, the settlement monies will be split among the The 118 homeowners who make up the class.
