Welder Settles for $2M in Personal Injury Lawsuit

Fresno County, CA: A lawsuit stemming from a workplace accident which resulted in a welder, who was an independent contractor, sustaining burns on roughly 35 percent of his body, has been settled for $2,125,000.

Ismael R. Quintana, 61 years old at the time of the accident, was working on a large diesel tank on June 24, 2008, when the tank exploded. Consequently, he had to undergo debridement and allografting.

Quitana claimed that Arthur & Orum Well Drilling Inc.'s president was aware that the tank contained hidden dangerous conditions, but failed to warn him of the dangers.
