T-Mobile Could Pay $11.5 Million as Potential ETF Settlement

This is a settlement for the T-Mobile USA lawsuit.

- by

A class action against wireless giant T-Mobile over early termination fees (ETF) could be settled soon, as the company has agreed to a preliminary settlement of $11.5 million. If approved, this would translate to roughly $125 per class member in non-cash items, specifically extra minutes or a pro-rated ETF.

The suit, which represents subscribers who were charged a flat-rate ETF between July 23, 1999 and February 19, 2009, was field in New Jersey, and alleges that T-Mobile violated state and federal laws by charging a flat rate ETF.
