Horizon Settlement Finalized Over Eating Disorder Coverage

The settlement of a class action suit brought against insurer Horizon Blue Cross of New Jersey regarding coverage of patients with eating disorders was approved April 21 by a federal judge.

The settlement expands benefits for 1.5 million patients with eating disorders, and the reforms are expected to cost Horizon approximately $17.8 million.
