Wal-Mart Settles Another Wage Suit for $90 Million

A judge in Missouri has granted preliminary approval for a $90 million settlment which would end yet another of the wage and hour class action lawsuits brought against the world's biggest retailer, Wal-Mart.

The suit, representing more than 178,000 former and current Wal-Mart and Sam's Club employees in Missouri, alleged that company forced its employees to work off the clock, prevented employees from taking breaks, and changed employee time cards.

This settlement is part of larger agreement reached in December 2008 in which Wal-Mart will settle 63 similar class action suits filed across the country.
