LA Settles LAPD Brutality Class Action

Los Angeles City Council has voted to settle a class action lawsuit against the Los Angeles Police Department, for $13 million. The suit alleged officer misconduct during the May Day peaceful immigrant demonstration, in which dozens of people were injured, including some journalists. The lawyers for some 300 plaintiffs alleged that excessive force was used to disperse a peaceful gathering in a park.
