Health Net Settles Three Class Actions for $215 Million

The Health insurer Health Net Inc, has reached a settlement in three class action lawsuits, which will result in payments of $215 million, and $40 million in improvements in its business practices. The lawsuits alleged that the insurer systematically underpaid two million customers in New Jersey and several other states.

The settlement also includes payments to members of a small employer plan in New Jersey, of some $15 million.
