Traverse City, MI

Traverse City, MI: (Apr-25-07) As part of a settlement related to the Incochee Woods Development, the city is set to buy a Wayne Street property valued at more than $160,000. Wayne Street neighbors objected when developers proposed building a project entrance on the lot. The previous agreement between the city and developer would have allowed the property to be split into two residential lots. But a judge objected to the land division, saying the settlement would circumvent the normal public process for such changes. The latest proposal calls for the city to purchase a lot at 1430 Wayne St. from the developers at the 2005 assessed value of $160,000. The settlement will also see the city split the cost, up to $25,000, for a gate at Ramsdell Road to restrict traffic there. Though the proposed agreement is between the city and developers, other parties to the lawsuits, including two neighborhood groups concerned about road access, would be eligible to sign on as well.
