His mother, Miriam Goldberg, 87, settled a civil lawsuit with her grandchildren for $800,000. The suit alleged that Miriam Goldberg aided her son in the murder. The wrongful death and emotional distress lawsuit brought by her three grandchildren, Eric Goldberg, 18, Jason Goldberg, 21, and Dara Goldberg, 15, was settled after Miriam Goldberg agreed to a $800,000 payout.
