Keller, TX

Keller, TX: (Mar-21-07) Charles Eric Richardson, former Keller City police officer, sued the city for $700,000, alleging he was wrongfully terminated after becoming permanently injured in Iraq. Richardson claimed he deserved back pay, reinstatement of health benefits, and compensation for mental anguish and attorney fees. Richardson also had filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, claiming discrimination because of his disability. But in 2005, the federal agency closed his file, saying it was unable to conclude that any statutes were violated. Keller City Council members approved a $55,000 out-of-court settlement with Richardson, ending the lawsuit. [KRIS TV NEWS: INJURED OFFICER FIRED]
