New Orleans, LA: (Mar-08-07) A class action lawsuit filed by more than 100 policy holders against Louisiana's state-run insurer, Citizens Property Insurance Corp., alleged that Citizens refused to cover damage from Rita, which contradicted terms stated in the policies at the time of purchase. In a settlement reached, Citizens Property Insurance Corp. has agreed to pay about $6.6 million to 167 policyholders in Cameron Parish who filed suit. [KATC NEWS: CITIZENS CLAIMS]
