St. James's University Hospital

Yorkshire, Northern England: (Feb-13-07) Laura Hegarty, 8, suffers from cerebral palsy as a result of brain damage that occurred after a traumatized birth at St. James's University Hospital in August, 1998. The parents claimed that despite Lisa Hegarty having been previously treated for pre-eclampsia, staff failed to identify her as high risk when she went into labor and they did not react quickly enough to signs of fetal distress, causing her baby to be deprived of oxygen.
