D&S Builders Inc.

Adrian, MI: A lawsuit was filed in 2006 against Theodore Samuel Deboer claiming the 48-year-old Three Rivers man had ran a red traffic light in his pickup. His vehicle struck the side of Wavie Reeves' automobile as it started across the intersection, killing him instantly. Reeves' family filed a civil lawsuit against Deboer's employer. It claimed D&S Builders Inc. was potentially liable for Deboer being on road that day. Lenawee County Circuit Judge Timothy Pickard approved the settlement. A $100,000 insurance payment released Deboer from the lawsuit, but left his employer as a defendant in the civil lawsuit. Deboer was found guilty of negligent homicide in a criminal prosecution and was sentenced to a deferred jail term. (Jan-30-07) [LENAWEE CONNECTION: DRIVER ACCIDENT]
