Lehigh Valley Apartments and Samuel Geltman and Co.

Whitehall, NY: On July 28, 2003 Lorreen Tambo was found at the bottom of a pool at the Independence Square Apartments. Her father filed a wrongful death lawsuit claiming his 19-year-old daughter died because two lifeguards on duty were not paying attention to the swimmers in the pool. The suit was filed against Lehigh Valley Apartments and Samuel Geltman and Co., a New Jersey firm that owns the building, alleging the pool should never have been open to swimmers since the water was cloudy and not properly chlorinated. Lehigh Valley Apartments and Samuel Geltman have agreed to a $900,000 settlement. (Nov-07-06) [MORNING CALL: POOL DROWNING]
