24 Hour Fitness
A class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of approximately 50,000 individuals employed at 24 Hour Fitness locations throughout California. The class claimed 24 Hour Fitness failed to pay overtime wages to managers, failed to pay hourly club employees for all hours worked, including overtime hours, failed to provide mandatory meal and rest breaks, improperly deducted earned commissions and bonus wages and required employees to pay for and maintain uniforms at their own costs. A United States District Court has granted final approval to a $38 million class action settlement. (Mar-10-06)
