Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals et al.

A lawsuit was filed against Lifekey Inc., Boland Naturals Inc., Warner Health Care, Wagner Nutraceuticals and Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals for allegedly violating state consumer laws. The lawsuit claimed the companies automatically signed customers up to a negative option feature without their knowledge. When consumers placed an initial order for a free 30-day trial of dietary supplements, Berkeley representatives allegedly failed to tell them they would receive and be automatically billed for additional shipments. The companies have reached a $5 million settlement with 12 states in the America. (Mar-03-06)
