J.D. Byrider

The Kentucky attorney general filed a lawsuit against the car dealer for allegedly selling substandard cars and trucks at inflated prices. The case was filed on behalf of 14,400 people who purchased vehicles at the Louisville dealer from January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2004. J.D. Byrider of Louisville has agreed to pay a $7.1 million settlement that will award $500 to each purchaser. Marc Maguire owns the franchise with his father James Maguire. The dealer's parent company, J.D. Byrider Systems Inc. of Carmel, Indiana will contribute an additional $300,000 to the settlement. (Jan-31-06) [INDIANAPOLIS STAR]

I've been paying on a 2010 Kia Forte since April of 2018. So many complaints I have. I'm being charged a daily interest rate when I was under the impression my interest was a APR. I was reported to Experian as being delinquent on payments since Aug of 2019, which is false. I have receipts with no date of payment also. I have emails where I'm told what my current balance was due to I missed a payment. Well 1 email said I was $300 behind plus another payment due. Then next email stated I only owed $136.00 plus my 2 week payment which is $165.00. Someone is lining their pockets. My car I'm purchasing is thru Byrider in Dover, Ohio financed thru CNAC. JD Byrider recently became Cartime, but receipt shows a whole other company name.

Last year I bought a 2012 VW Jetta S at almost 14,000 dollars and about 90,000 miles on it. The car at the time of purchase was only worth 4,000 dollars max. I sit here on August 26th still owing 12,800 dollars on it and have had it almost a year now. Where in the world are my 182.01 bi weekly payments going? This is uncalled for and I want to sue this company for whatever practice they are doing. I'm being butchered by this company for not so great credit and being desperate for a car. This company needs some serious looking into by lawyers and even states that have them and shut them down for good. I've looked through all the posts on here and believe we could fight this. Regular dealerships are reasonable with the payments. This place isn't. If you have any way to help email me please. blackhawk1993z@gmail.com

Same complaints as everyone here. Sadly we bought an 06 saturn vue from jd Oct 2015. I think for 16000. The value is only maybe 6000. We have put in the shop at least 3 times for the same issue in the back, and now more is going wrong. Muffler has a large hole, axel has been rusted and now ready to break, a popping noise in the back that has always been there, sunroof that never worked and was told it would be 3-400 to get it fixed by an outside company is now leaking, o2 sensor may be going out, and my rpm still go crazy like they have for the past year. Last time we put it in the shop for front and back noise they said it was fixed after a week. I had my son in the car on the freeway going home from the shop when it almost caught on fire because they did not fix it correctly. And the back noise still was not addressed. We have never been late on a payment. We tried to trade it in About 6 months ago and still had a balance of 9400. So waited 6 months and tried again only to find out pay out is now 9600. Make sense to any one else? No one will take it for a trade. I dont want to be sued but my son's safety is my priority. I dont know what to do.

I purchased a 2007 Chevy uplander from this predatory lender for what would turn out to total $28,000, when in actuality it was worth $5,500! Their selling price was 3x the kbb plus they smashed my skull with a 24.99% interest rate. I held on for close to a year before my logic overtook my pride and I let it go after exhausting bbb, legal aide, personal lawyers, etc...I feel that there is something that can be done by the NC attorney general to recoup some of my losses. I rode past the lot I got jerked at, and to my UN-surprise they are totally shut down. Go figure.......if anyone is from NC and wish to join me in getting some of our money or vehicles back please reach out to me on the book.

So purchased a 2012 terrain Oct 14 2017 had to take it to their service department. The fan was vibrating the car...said it was insulation in the blower motor. They fixed that...set me up with $300 down plus an additional $1000 down (4 payments at $250) within the next 2 months before the actual car payment which started on Dec 22 2017. Car had 124627 when I got it when they took it back had 125234.Yes I was $100 short on the last down payment amount and they repoed it Nov 29 2017. That payment was made on Nov 24 2017...so 5 days late $100's. I called too see if I could get it back next day. They said no..they are a NO tolerance company. Further they told me to expect collections to continue. How can they do that when I didn't even have the car until it's first payment that went toward the car $13,462 Is the total cost my contract was for. Never in my life have I nor anyone else heard of such practices. $100...You kidding me! SO now I'm back In The same situation I was a month in a half ago. Only $1200 poorer..and no vehicle!

I am a former J.D. Byrider Franchisee. I DE-franchised because I became disillusioned with the Byrider paradigm because of the way customers are treated among other things. I am looking into the possibility of a consumer class action law suit against them. I would be more than happy to assist anybody in dealing with Byrider.

In 2017 I bought a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country from JD Byrider. I am the soul breadwinner in my house. I had emergency surgery and they still are continuing to harass my household. We have lost everything. This car has major electrical issues with it the locks go crazy the horn goes off the wippers go crazy and the windshield washer fluid kept spraying everywhere. Also had to replace a radiator at my own cost because they wouldn't cover anything. I am literally afraid to drive it. The was also front end damage done to the van before I got it because 6 months later my front tires are completely earn with metal showing. I dont know but they are major major scam artist if you ask me.

August of 2016 I bought a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander from JD Byrider in appleton Wisconsin. The vehicle was priced at $14,995 along with every other vehicle in the lot. The reduced the price to $11,995 as they do for every vehicle. The shop was closing and I needed a car for a new job fast so I decided to go there. I really loved the vehicle so I went ahead and signed the paperwork and they said I could pick it up tomorrow. I picked it up the next day with a huge scratch and dent on the drivers side door, they said it was already there and that I already signed the paperwork. (I think I would have noticed that) the following day the muffler fell off of the car. This was just the beginning of my problems. I soon found out that the vehicle was only worth $5,100.00 when I got it appraised by my bank for refinancing. I was told the interest was around %11.5 but I soon figured out that it was %22.8. I told them that I was getting a new job soon and would need to eventually change the date that my payment comes out to reflect my new payday. I called to change that and they said there is not way to change the date at all. I was told that the price of the vehicle reflects the 3 year 30,000 mile warranty, which he said was worth $4,000.00. He originally clearly stated that all repairs where only $20.00 and thats all you pay. Here I find out that it is $49.00 per hour and $20.00 per part. Months later my Bluetooth goes out, electronics started acting weird and locked the doors over and over. I called them and they do not cover any of the electronics. Then the wheel barring started scraping and breaks where making horrible noises. skip ahead a few unpleasant phone calls and just now, today 10/19/2017 on the way to my new career, my transmission gave out in the middle of a 1 lane bridge. This whole situation has been unbelievable and this is horrible.

My husband and i purchased a 2007 pt cruiser from jdbyrider last year aug 2016. Theyve had it back ten times and it is headed back for a 11th this week. It constantly over heats and smokes the inside of the vehicle fills up with smoke. Theyve put two engines in a radiator fix the thermostats the cam sensor and it is still running hot. They manage to break our air and heat while fixing it and wont fix that because its not covered under the warranty. My husband often has to miss work because the car wont make it. Thwy wont give him a new one. Im looking into an atty as i feel they frauded us.

I had purchased a vehicle from JD Byrider back in 2005. It was back and forth to their shop 6 times in the first couple months of having it. Same issue each time. I was finally told to bring the vehicle back in and it was settled. They got the vehicle back. Now... this week... I get a small claims notice for $6500 from March 2005. Lmao! 12 years go by and I am getting a suit? Absolutely nothing on my credit from them after the vehicle was turned in, nothing all these years, and still nothing on my credit and this? Anyone seen this yet??? The scamming still goes on after 12 years of nothing to do with them.

Similar issues to everyone else. 17,000 ending payment for a 2008 Buick LaCrosse worth blue book $7000 has been to the shop 7 times and we have just had it a month. Now I have to take it to the dealer to fix it (they are covering cost) because they can't get the knock sensor part in.. this is super stressful. I keep missing work to being this car in. It's just to much. Preying on people with lower income and bad credit and the worst is my credit is 600 not even that bad

Last year, my boyfriend and I were desperate for a vehicle. JD Byrider saw us coming a mile away. We purchased a 2005 Chevy Malibu with nearly 200,000 miles on it. We are paying $185 every 2 weeks. If we wanted to pay it off now, we would have to pay over $11,000. Kelly Blue Book values our car at about $260-$2600 depending on its condition. What we still owe is almost what a 2017 Chevy Malibu goes for. We are stuck in this. I should have checked all this before buying from them. We have 4 more years to go @ $370 a month. Ridiculous.

I got A 2005 Ford Escape in September 2016, they let me keep it long enough to take $1100 for down payment. Then before December payment they repossessed it, didn't even call before coming to get it.
