A $1.7 million settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of 54 men who were sexually abused at St. Joseph's Training School in Alfred, Ontario. The settlement is in reference to a 1992 abuse settlement, as the men involved in this portion of the settlement have not been located. The original $16 million settlement involved 1,600 victims.
