According to her doctor, that is three days too long.

(“Del Monte Fresh”) of Coral Gables, Florida is recalling 4,992 cartons of cantaloupes, each containing 4 plastic mesh sleeves with 3 cantaloupes per sleeve, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella Panama, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella Panama often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella Panama can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Washington, DC: Sprouters Northwest, Inc. of Kent, WA, is recalling all of its clover and clover mix products because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Boise, ID: A Qui Tam Whistleblower lawsuit has been settled, with the whistleblower taking home $364,425 as her share of the $2.425 million settlement against two speech therapists and three hospitals in Eastern Idaho. The alleged fraud, which was reported to have involved the use of unlicensed speech therapists for services billed to Medicaid as licensed, was settled without any admission of liability.

Glenns Ferry, ID: A family of four died in a car accident on the interstate highway in Idaho Thursday night. According to a report on CNN.com Amado Herrera, 48, of California, and three passengers were heading west on Interstate 84 near Glenns Ferry, in their Nissan four-door vehicle, when they were struck by a pickup truck. They died instantly, according to police reports.

Washington, DC: Miravalle Foods Inc, is recalling 37,318 lbs. of "Miravalle Chile California & Miravalle Chile Nuevo Mexico" Brand Peppers" distributed between March 15th and May 6th 2010 to some customers in CA, CO, UT, NC, NE, ID, OR and NV because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
