Woman Dies After Taking Forza Raspberry Keytones

- by

Los Angeles, CA: A 24-year old woman has died from a heart attack after taking a large amount of a herbal dietary supplement called Forza raspberry ketones. The young woman was a health worker in the UK, and after taking her first dose of the slimming pill, she complained of heart palpitations and died shortly thereafter.

Only a small number of preliminary studies have been done on Raspberry keytones, a chemical compound which gives the fruit its scent. The studies reportedly show that while ketones may help with weight loss, their effectiveness is mixed.

In addition to raspberry ketones, Forza supplements also contain resveratrol and up to 250 milligrams of caffeine per pill, which is approximately equivalent to the amount of caffeine in four cans of Red Bull energy drink or seven cans of Coke. The dose Reynolds consumed was likely the equivalent of 2.5 cans of Red Bull. In 2013, the family of a young Brooklyn man who died of heart failure after drinking Red Bull filed an $85 million lawsuit against the manufacturer of Red Bull.
