Volkswagen, OH

A class action has been filed against Volkswagen of America on behalf of all individuals or entities in Ohio who owned or leased a 1999, 2000, 2001 or 2002 Volkswagen Jetta. The class action suit alleges that the front bumper assembly of the Jetta is made in such a way that it will hook onto a curb or parking wheel stop when the car is parked. The front bumper will separate from the car when it is backed out of the parking space, causing considerable damage.

I have lost plastic airflow vents on the lower bumper, the bumper itself has come unhinged, leaving it loose and a gap between it and the fender, which will not properly align. Volkswagen has refused to make these repairs. This also caused damage to the rubber or plastic wheel mud guard as it rubbed the tire once it became misaligned, due to bumper issue. Additionally, the glove box and armrest latches have broken, which is overly common for this year and model.
