A class action lawsuit has been filed against the residential elder care home operator for failing to comply with applicable laws and regulations governing the operation of residential care facilities for the elderly. The lawsuit was filed in Orange County Superior Court and claims Sunwest understaffs its homes to increase profits. The lawsuit alleges Sunwest's corporate strategy is to maximize profit at the expense of the elderly and vulnerable people it claims to serve.
