Sleepees

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Our World Inc., the makers of the sleep aid, alleging it contained an undeclared drug, estazolam. The class action was filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia on behalf of Canadians injured by the herbal sleep aid, Sleepees.

The product was recalled on February 23, 2007 after a Health Canada advisory revealed that Sleepees contained estazolam. Our World Inc. sold Sleepees as an all natural product to consumers without advising them that the product contained an addictive and potentially harmful drug.

Estazolam belongs to the class of drugs known as benzodiazepines, a category of drugs that should only be prescribed by a healthcare practitioner. Estazolam can be highly addictive and can cause serious adverse reactions, including depression, loss of memory, allergic reactions, and withdrawal symptoms.
