Florida's Department of Children & Families Mentally Ill Inmates

A class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of mentally ill inmates for illegally holding them in jails longer than 15 days before moving them to mental health care facilities. Florida's Department of Children & Families notes it does not have enough beds for inmates with special needs and is therefore holding such inmates in state jails.
