Security One Allegedly Selling Faulty Alarms Door to Door
Residents of Minneapolis have been targeted by unlicensed solicitors selling a range of suspicious goods, including faulty alarm systems.
One company involved with selling faulty alarms systems is Security One. While the company has said they are licensed by the state and don't require a city license, several people have reported buying faulty alarm systems from them, and then having difficulty in cancelling the service.
So far, City Hall has written up $2000 in fines against these solicitors. The City is warning residents on the South side, which has been particularly hard hit, to make sure the salespeople have licenses. And they are advising people who encounter unlicensed solicitors to call 911.
