Federal Aviation Administration

Hundreds of flight service specialists have filed an age discrimination class action lawsuit against their employer in an attempt to keep their jobs from being contracted out. Approximately 790 federal employees are claiming that the FAA's decision to award 2,500 jobs to Lockheed Martin Corp. was based on age. The class is also alleging this decision is in violation of the 1967 Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Those employees close to retirement will see a significant reduction in government pension benefits.
