Federal Aviation Administration

The National Association of Air Traffic Specialists has filed an age discrimination class action lawsuit against the Federal Aviation Administration on behalf of 1,935 air traffic controllers. The suit was filed following the FAA's decision to contract out flight service to Lockheed Martin. The 10-year, $1.9 billion contract to Lockheed Martin to provide general aviation flight services will replace about 2,500 jobs that are currently being performed by agency employees. The suit claims that one of the FAA's reasons for its decision to outsource flight service was because of the presence of a largely "retirement eligible workforce."

I received a letter from the FAA in September 1, 2009 questioning my ability as an Airframes and Power plant mechanic because I went to a Designated Mechanical examiner by the name of Brian T for a oral and practical exam which was conducted in May 5, 2003 which I passed the exam given to me by Mr. T, with the FAA Card that I had the was issued to me earlier by Mr. H in September 15, 1999 and the Laser Grade test report from Wright Flyers Aviation dated April 3, 2003, Mr. T prepared a Temporary Airman Certificate for Air Frames and Power plants and issued that certificate to me I received the credit card type certificate issued by the FAA in July 2005. I had heard rumor about T and how the FAA claimed that other Mechanic were not getting their certificates because of T. I took the exam in which T was authorized to give by the FAA according to the FAA I did not take any of the written exams General, Airframes ,or Power Plants which I took in Greenville, South Carolina, Victorville California and San Antonio, Texas respectfully. The FAA in the letter stated unless I surrender my license or make arrangement to take the A&P Exam by October 2009 in which I did I took the Power Plant Exam 50 question and the practical after I passed the test Why Am I talking to you at the time during the investigation the FAA were not straight forward in their investigation first they claimed that T had given exams to people so that they could become FAA mechanics, they also claimed that T were allowing Forgine Nationals to take the FAA exams later I after being laid off by Kelly Aviation Center in 2012 I went back to school to get my Degree which I did in 2017 I went to the FAA web site and looked at the issue of Nuts and Bolts in it it had an article of the 1400 mechanics affected by the investigation on T I believed that the FAA jumped the gun on me in that article the FAA stated that T was a DME for the oral and practical exam for the Power Plant which I took and passed if the FAA had done their investigation correctly they would have found that I did not take any of the written exam from T as it is they were going to make me take the A&P exam till I showed them proof that Mr. H had issued the Temporary certificate for airframes and not T if they would have gone further they would have found that I tool the written Power Plant exam at Wright Flyers which T was not associated with. Are there other mechanic like me. that the FAA took advantage of and slandered their reputation and threatened them by taking away their live hood.
