$688M Settlement Awarded in Vytorin Class Action Lawsuit

This is a settlement for the Vytorin Marketing lawsuit.

New York, NY: A $688 million settlement has been approved by a federal judge effectively ending claims that Merck & Co. Inc. and its subsidiary Schering-Plough Corp. concealed test results on the efficacy of their anti-cholesterol drug Vytorin.

US District Court Judge Dennis M. Cavanaugh signed the orders this week, approving the $688 million settlement Merck and Schering-Plough offered in February just prior to the class action' trial date. Merck and Schering-Plough porposed making the settlement to avoid going to trial scheduled to begin in March. Neither defendant has admitted any wrongdoing.

The massive settlement will end claims against the companies for the vast majority of the class, save for 187 plaintiffs who opted out, according to the order.

I given vytorin after the took a stress test on my heart. At the time I was about to turn 55. I passed the stress test and was told my heart looked looked ok . At age 58 I was rushed in for major by-pass surgery . I was shaken awake after the surgery and was asked by the cardiologist who prescribed vytorin to me as it was found to be killing people. I told the doctors that they at the clinic prescribed it to me.
Not only did the drug not work but it caused health issues as a result.
I'm faced with health issues related to this.

I got in touch with an attorney about Vyotin, now I see there has been a settlement reached, but I never heard from the attorney. The last time I talked to this attorney, which I do not remember his name. They said they got all of my records and they would keep in touch with me. But I have never heard from them again. What do I need to do now.
