I had a left lunar infarct within 48 hours of receiving a Procrit injection for treatment of my anemia (7.9 hgb) related to my kidney disease. Prior to the stroke, my average BP was 70/40 (orthostatic HYPOtension). Immediately after the Procrit injection my BP was 200/100. Lunar infarcts are caused only by sudden, severe increase/decrease in BP. After the stroke, they wanted to give me more Procrit! I said no. I am currently in a sub-acute rehab to recover from my deficits.Submitted 2008-10-21Defendant: Aranesp, Epogen, and Procrit (severe anemia or pure red cell aplasia) As a direct result of the stroke, I have short term memory loss, right sided deficits, personality and emotional disturbances. My quality of life, and length of life has been severly impacted by the administration of this drug. -- New Jersey * The views printed here do not necessarily represent the views of LawyersandSettlements.com but are solely the views of the author.
