I accidentally missed a monthly payment on a Chase card. My interest rate for the next statement due was jumped from 5.25% to 28.99%. I was further assessed a late fee penalty of $35.

Defendant: Credit Card Rate Hikes (abusive fees and rate hikes)

While the $35 penalty was waived, and my interest rate reinstated, an estimated $330 in extra interest paid for the missed month was neither waived nor applied to principal reduction. The penalty in effect was $330.
