My father died as a result of his Medtronic defibrillator failing to go off. The Medtronic technician who did the post-mortem read out said he could not see any activity from the device during the time leading up to his death, and even conceded to us that it should have gone off and "sometimes they just don't work right."Submitted 2008-06-12Defendant: Medtronic (Defective ICD Battery) My father was paying for me to go to school, and because of his death, I have lost the $1300 a month I was receiving from him, and I am suffering severe hardship now that I am having to work twice as much while still trying to go to school. Apart from the financial damages, I lost my dad, even though he had gone to extensive measures to keep living. I was convinced by doctors that the defibrillator would help, and it failed when he needed it most. -- Iowa * The views printed here do not necessarily represent the views of LawyersandSettlements.com but are solely the views of the author.
