After being given IV Heparin in the hospital, I had a sharp pain in my shoulder/chest area, was unable to breathe deep, became nauseous and vomited, and my blood pressure dropped to 50/26, my kidneys started shutting down, and it caused a heart arrythmia.Submitted 2008-06-11Defendant: Heparin Injections (contaminated syringes) I spent an extra eight days in the hospital from which was supposed to be a routine C-section. I almost died. I developed a heart arrythmia from this drug, which I had to go back into the hospital to take care of. I missed a few weeks of work, and missed the first week of my son's life. I was unable to care for him, as I was so sick from almost dying. I will never get that time back that I missed. Other people had to care for my firstborn during the first week of his life. Since I had to be put on other meds from almost dying, I was unable to breastfeed my child the first few days of his life. Therefore they had to feed him formula, and I had to struggle to try to breastfeed him. -- Nebraska |
