Racially biased, reporting.Submitted 2008-02-01Defendant: The Berkshire Eagle I was prosecuted and acquitted in the weakest rape case ever. It took almost 3 years for the DA to bring it to trial and less than 2 hours for the jury to acquit. It was a he said - she said case of a young black man and a young white girl who is an admitted crack-whore junkie. The ADA was just out to get me. I'd like to sue the local newspaper The Berkshire Eagle for slander, libel, defamation of character for it's biased reporting on the case. Everyday of the trial they published my name and exposed me to hatred, ridicule and contempt for standing falsely accused of a crime in open court without publishing the name of the accuser whose false statements brought about those false charges and who lied on the stand in that same open court? Why should the innocent suffer such defamation of character while the lying false accuser enjoys anonymity? Should not such biased reporting constitute actionable defamation? Shouldn’t there be legal repercussions against both the newspaper and the accuser? -- Massachusetts |
