New York State

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the state for the massive parasitic outbreak that occurred at the Seneca Lake Sprayground from June through mid August. More than 3,800 people have reported becoming ill after having water contact and at least 33 people have been hospitalized. Cryptosporidium was found in the park's water tanks. This parasite can cause cryptosporidiosis, a gastrointestinal illness.
