Chicago Board of Election Commissioners

Two class action lawsuits have been filed against the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners for allegedly violating the Personal Information Protection Act. More than 1.3 million voters in Chicago had their Social Security numbers released to aldermanic candidates and ward committeeman on compact discs. The names, addresses, telephone numbers, and dates of birth also were included in the released information. The lawsuits were filed in Cook County circuit court and alleged gross negligence on behalf of the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
