Veolia Water

A complaint filed in Marion Superior Court, against Veolia Water, on behalf of two plaintiffs in Indianapolis and Zionsville, is seeking class action status. The lawsuit claims that the company overestimated water usage for about 250,000 residential customers in the Indianapolis area.

The Indiana lawsuit alleges Veolia Water has harmed its customers by overcharging customers for late fees, failing to read customer meters at least every two months, and overestimating usage, among other things. Under a 20-year management agreement Veolia Water operates Indianapolis Water, a city utility. For managing the utility, Veolia receives about $33 million per year.
