United Airlines
The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a class action lawsuit in federal court in Seattle claiming the airline's policy on minimum working hours violates the Americans with Disabilities Act. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of employees who have been terminated from their positions after the airline introduced a minimum 30-hour work week in 2003. Three women with medical conditions that prevented them from working 30 hours a week were fired from United's Honolulu and Seattle offices.
